Earthfall – Orson Scott Card

This 4th of 5 books in the Homecoming series finds the growing clan in the final stages of preparing to launch for earth. Conflict from the Elemaki faction persists, manifesting during preflight planning, in the voyage itself, and continuing on the ground after the ship reaches earth. There is an implicit acceptance of some aspects of human nastiness, even from the best of people, that at times is vaguely disconcerting in this volume, but the story is well told, the narrative keeps the reader coming back for more, and most importantly, the pages are chock full of dialogue that, if the reader has eyes to see, speak to the core of human nature and human conflict.
