Innocence – Dean Koontz

Addison is a young boy whose face, when seen by another, elicits an immediate, overwhelming, revulsive fear… which is replaced almost immediately by murderous rage. The reason for the reactions to Addison, how he deals with them emotionally and spiritually, and how he manages to survive in such an environment is the plot of this story. But not the point. Addison’s character, and other’s reactions to him, is a metaphor for one of the most profound spiritual truths present in our broken world.
