This 5th and final book in the Homecoming series. Many generations have elapsed between the end of book 4 and the beginning of book 5. Life on Earth has not developed into a Utopian society by any measure. Diggers, Angels and Middle People (humans like us) are all guilty of bias, hate and other various and sundry less-than-ideal qualities. The good people strive against the evil, and from their struggles we glean wisdom and perspective.

In this final book of the series, Card brings it all together; now the Keeper of Earth deals with people and what it all means. Card delivers an amazing and inspiring analogy of how God deals with people.
