Barry The Bravest Saint Bernard – Lynn Hall
Barry the Bravest Saint Bernard is the true-life story of a legendary rescue dog who lived at the Saint Bernard Monastery, near the Saint Bernard pass in the mountains of Switzerland, over 100 years ago. The monks at the monastery had adopted as part of their ministry the search for and rescue of missing or injured travelers in the snow-covered mountains. They had bred up a special breed of dogs to help them locate missing people, even if they were buried in an avalanche; something that happened frequently in the surrounding area. The large, strong and friendly breed of dogs that the Monastery bred came to be called “Saint Bernards” after the monastery where they were bred. Barry was the best of the best.
